The experience
The day starts at Kendwa Beach on Zanzibar's northwest coast, known for its wide white sand and calm water. The beach sits at the edge of the island's eastern shore, where you can join water sports like kayaking and snorkeling at the nearby Mnemba corals, or simply float in the shallows and watch the sunset. From there, the tour moves south to Paje Beach, a long stretch of sand between Jambiani and Bwejuu village where kiteboarding draws travelers and beachfront restaurants line the shore.
Jambiani is the third stop, a village beach known for its own sunrise views and calm atmosphere. The itinerary leaves you with leisure time on the sand at each location, roughly an hour at each, so you're not watching from a vehicle. Your guide speaks English, French, German or Italian, and travels with you in an air-conditioned van. The tour runs seven to eight hours total, and you bring your own snorkeling gear if you want to use it. The operator does not provide it.
Stone Town and the island's spice farms are not part of this tour. The focus is the beaches themselves and the rhythm of the day: sunrise, water, sand, and the way the island's villages sit between them. Mineral water comes with you. Food is not included and costs between $10 and $25 depending on what you order at the beach restaurants.
