The experience
How much wildlife can you actually see in a single day? Tarangire National Park holds herds of up to 300 elephants, and this tour gives you the morning and afternoon to find them. You're driven in a safari-built vehicle with an English-speaking guide who knows where the animals move through the gently rolling countryside. The park's defining feature (vast baobab trees that seem to dwarf everything beneath them) frames the whole day, and the guide times the drives to catch the animals when they're active.
The morning game drive starts as soon as you arrive. You stop for a picnic lunch at a site inside the park, then head back out for the afternoon drive. Complimentary mineral water travels with you. The park closes at 6pm, which sets the natural rhythm of the day: you leave your hotel in Arusha in the morning, spend the full daylight hours watching for zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and elands moving through the landscape, and return to your hotel by evening.
Hotel pickup and drop-off within Arusha town are included, so you don't arrange separate transport. A minimum of two people per booking is required. Vegetarian meals are available if you request them when you book.
