Step-by-step itinerary
Dolphin tour and snorkeling activities
- Snorkeling and dolphin watching
- Swimming with turtles
The experience
Seven to eight hours on the water means you spend most of the day in the reserve itself, not traveling to it. The boat leaves early to catch dolphins at the surface, then moves through the coral gardens where you'll see fish and living coral before the afternoon swim with sea turtles. A professional captain navigates the reserve and an English-speaking guide stays with the group. The boat is air-conditioned between water sessions, so you can dry off and eat tropical fruit without leaving the vessel.
You bring your own snorkeling skills or none at all. The equipment is there, the life vest is there, and the guide handles the route. The reserve itself is the draw: dolphins are not guaranteed, but they are common enough that the operator built the timing around finding them. Sea turtles are a separate stop later in the day. The water is warm and the visibility depends on the season, but the coral and fish are year-round residents.
Pickup comes from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. If you're staying near the coast or in town, the driver knows the route. Infants can come along if they sit on an adult's lap. The boat is private to your group, which means no strangers and no schedule changes mid-day to pick up others.
