The experience

The first day centers on water. You snorkel at Blue Lagoon Atoll, where the coral reefs and colorful marine life sit in crystal-clear shallows, then move to Starfish Beach to see starfish in their natural habitat: a moment most travelers photograph. After that comes Kuza Cave, a 250,000-year-old limestone formation with a natural pool inside where you can swim. The cave also holds ancient Swahili artifacts and opens onto the island's deeper history. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and the guide handles the route between stops.

Day two is land-based. A guided walk through Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, Zanzibar's only national park, is built around spotting the rare Red Colobus Monkeys that live nowhere else. The forest also holds unique birds, butterflies and other wildlife across its biodiverse sanctuary. The day ends with your return to the hotel.

Hotel pickup and drop-off bracket both days, and the guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language. Tropical fruits are included.
