The experience
The walk moves through the alleys and cobble streets of Lucerne's old town, stopping at three chocolate boutiques chosen for their craft. At each one you taste a range of pralines (ten different flavours across the three stops), and your guide walks you through the aromas, textures, exotic ingredients and designs that go into them. The guide is a professional who knows the history of Swiss chocolate in the region and the work of the Maître Chocolatiers behind these shops.
After the tastings, the route takes you to the Lion Monument, where your guide shares the story and secrets of this landmark carved into the rock face. Bottled water, coffee and tea come with the tour. If chocolate alone is not enough, you can book an optional one-hour boat trip around Lake Lucerne as a separate add-on at checkout, extending your time on the water after the walking portion ends.
