The experience

Your instructor meets you at your hotel and takes you to whichever ski area suits your goals. Corviglia sits at 3,057 meters overlooking the frozen Engadin lakes, with 155 kilometers of south-facing runs and the historic World Cup slopes where Olympians trained. Corvatsch rises to 3,303 meters on the north side, famous for powder that holds into spring and the 9-kilometer Hahnensee descent that drops through forests into St Moritz Bad. Diavolezza offers glacier views and high-altitude terrain with dramatic Bernina Range panoramas. Your instructor picks the mountain and the runs based on what you're working toward, whether that's mastering the basics, refining your carving, or tackling steeper terrain.

The lesson is entirely yours to shape. If you want to spend the morning on gentle slopes building confidence and the afternoon exploring higher runs, that's the plan. If you'd rather focus on one area and go deep, the instructor adjusts. The day includes your guide's expertise and hotel transport. Ski lift tickets and equipment rental are separate, so you pay only for what you use. You can rent skis, boots and a helmet at the resort, or bring your own. The instructor speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or German, so language is not a barrier.

Half-day options run 3 or 5 hours, giving you a focused session on one mountain. A full-day tour stretches to 7 hours and lets you move between areas or spend more time on the terrain that excites you. Most people book the morning or early afternoon so they have daylight for the whole lesson and can grab lunch at one of the mountain restaurants without cutting into ski time.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 18).

How do I get to the ski areas from my hotel in St Moritz?

Your instructor picks you up at your hotel and drives you to the ski area you've chosen: Corviglia, Corvatsch or Diavolezza. From there, cable cars and lifts take you up the mountain. The drive from central St Moritz to any of the three areas is short. Most hotels are within 10 to 20 minutes of the base stations.

What's the difference between Corviglia, Corvatsch and Diavolezza?

Corviglia is the sunny, south-facing mountain at 3,057 meters with 155 kilometers of groomed runs and historic World Cup slopes: ideal if you want smooth carving and reliable conditions. Corvatsch reaches 3,303 meters on the north side and holds powder longer into spring. It has 120 kilometers of varied terrain, including the famous 9-kilometer Hahnensee run through forests. Diavolezza is known for glacier views, high-altitude skiing and dramatic mountain scenery. Your instructor will recommend which suits your level and what you want to practice.

Do I need to rent skis and boots, or can I bring my own?

You can bring your own equipment or rent at the resort. Rental of skis, boots and helmet costs around 65 CHF per person and is arranged on the mountain. Your instructor can advise on what makes sense for your level and the terrain you'll ski.

What's included in the price, and what costs extra?

The lesson includes your instructor, hotel pickup and drop-off, and itinerary planning tailored to you. Ski lift tickets (80 to 100 CHF per person depending on the area), equipment rental, food and drinks, and warm clothing rental are separate. You pay for lift tickets only for the areas you ski that day.

Can I book a lesson if I've never skied before?

Yes. The instructor teaches beginners from the ground up, starting on gentle slopes and building your confidence and technique at your own pace. The 3-hour half-day option is popular for first-timers who want a focused introduction. Many then book a longer lesson on a second day to practice what they've learned.
