The experience

The plane leaves the ground and climbs toward the peaks. Your pilot navigates angles that ground-based tours cannot reach, banking past the Matterhorn's pyramid shape, the Eiger's north face, and the Jungfrau's glaciers. The three routes let you pick how deep into the Alps you want to go: the shortest covers Mythen, Rigi, Bürgenstock and Pilatus above Lake Lucerne; the middle route adds the Jungfrau-Mönch-Eiger massif, Titlis and the Lauterbrunnen Valley; the longest swings south to the Matterhorn and Andermatt before returning.

A live guide flies with you and speaks English, Spanish or German. The cabin is air-conditioned. Infants sit on an adult's lap. The operator asks in advance if you have any medical conditions or need special attention, so they can plan the flight safely.

You land back where you started. The crew greets you with a small gift. A reminder that you've joined their family of fliers who've seen the Alps from angles most people never will.
