The experience
You start the morning at Bus Parking Landenberg in Lucerne, where you board a comfortable coach for the scenic drive through Swiss countryside to Interlaken. A multilingual certified guide leads the journey and stays with you throughout the day. Once at the base in Interlaken, you'll get a safety briefing and all the canyoning equipment you need (wetsuit, helmet, harness and shoes), before heading into the gorges.
The three-hour canyoning section is the core of the day: you'll jump into clear pools beneath waterfalls, slide down smooth rock chutes polished by water and time, and abseil down cliff faces with the guide managing your safety. The route takes you through hidden gorges surrounded by alpine peaks. After you're done, hot showers and changing rooms let you clean up before heading back into the village.
Interlaken itself sits between two lakes, and you'll have free time to wander the village, grab a meal or drink, or take an optional funicular up to Harder Kulm for views across Lakes Thun and Brienz toward the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. A complimentary drink waits for you after the canyoning, and you can buy optional video footage of the adventure if you want it. In the late afternoon, you meet your guide for the coach ride back to Lucerne, arriving in the evening.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (12 to 15 years). Children under 12 can't be included in the booking.
What's the canyoning part actually like, how deep are the jumps and how technical is it?
The jumps, slides and abseils vary in size and difficulty throughout the gorge, but the route is designed for people with no prior canyoning experience. You'll be in the water most of the time, jumping from rocks into pools, sliding down natural rock chutes and being lowered by rope down steeper sections. Swimming skills are recommended but not required. What matters is comfort in water and a willingness to follow the guide's instructions.
Do I need to be extremely fit to do this?
The activity requires a high level of physical fitness because you're moving through water and over rock for three hours, climbing, jumping and swimming repeatedly. If you're not regularly active, this will be demanding. There's a maximum weight limit of 125 kg, and you need to be in good health with no medical conditions that would be affected by cold water, physical exertion or heights.
How much time do I actually spend canyoning versus traveling and waiting around?
The canyoning adventure itself is about three hours. The coach journey from Lucerne to Interlaken takes time in the morning, and you'll have free time in Interlaken before or after the gorge section depending on the schedule. The full day from pickup to return is around ten hours, so you're looking at roughly three hours of active canyoning, a couple of hours of travel, and the rest as free time in the village or on the optional funicular.
What do I need to bring, and what's provided?
Bring swimwear and a towel. Everything else for canyoning is provided, including the wetsuit, helmet, harness and shoes. You'll have access to changing rooms and hot showers after the adventure. The coach, guide, all safety equipment and a complimentary drink afterward are included. Food, drinks beyond the one included, and any personal expenses are on you.
