The evening begins at Stejk Street Food's tipi, where you order from the local menu and eat with the group around a fire. Once dinner ends, you leave the tipi and climb into a minivan with your guide and the rest of the small group.

From there, the hunt starts. Your guide reads the weather and aurora forecast in real time and drives in whichever direction offers the clearest sky—north, south, east or west. You make several stops to step out of the minivan for short, easy walks into the wilderness, away from light pollution, where the guides point out what to watch for and explain the science of the lights.
