The experience

The ride starts at Layou Petroglyph Park, where you'll see carvings left by Amerindian peoples over a thousand years ago, then moves into the rainforest itself. The trails take you through dense vegetation where the flora and fauna shift as you climb. The payoff is Bellwood Waterfall, where the group stops to swim and rest. Between the two landmarks, you're navigating the forest floor on your own machine, reading the terrain and picking your line through the wet, rooted sections that make this kind of riding different from road trails.

You pick your role at checkout: ride your own ATV or sit as a passenger with a driver. Either way, the guide handles the route and the pacing, so you're not navigating or deciding where to go. The 2.5-hour window covers the ride itself plus the stops at the petroglyph site and the waterfall. Snacks come partway through. Pickup happens from Kingstown Cruise Port or Sandals Resort depending on which option you book, and an air-conditioned vehicle brings you to the trailhead.

The minimum age is 16, and no special fitness level is required: the guide adjusts the pace for beginners as well as experienced riders. Pregnant travelers should skip this one. If you're coming off a cruise ship, the Kingstown option times the return to your port. If you're staying at Sandals, the resort pickup saves the trip into town.
