The experience
What makes this catamaran different is the ride itself. Magic Time is built to glide over the waves rather than slam into them, and the 60% shade on deck means you're not baking between snorkel stops. The boat carries a swimming platform with an easy ladder, fresh water shower and toilets. The setup you'd expect on a resort pool, not a charter. You get snorkeling instruction before you go in, full equipment including inflatable vests and noodles for anyone who wants flotation, and a guide who speaks English and knows the water.
The captain works with you to pick the day's route. Most charters hit Little Bay first for an easy snorkel on the way to the French side, then Indigo Bay: a new development with clear water and another snorkel option. Simpson Bay Lagoon is the centerpiece: you cruise under the bridge into a basin ringed with mega yachts, each one a different story. The French side of Saint Martin is reachable by water, and Marigot is on the itinerary. On the way back, Maho Beach is a must-stop to watch planes land and take photos with aircraft passing overhead. A final calm swim rounds out the three hours.
The open bar runs the whole time: Carib, Coors Light, Happy Rhum Punch, vodka mix, gin and tonic, sodas, juices and water. After the first snorkel stop, the crew serves mini baguette sandwiches with ham and cheese or tuna. You'll want to bring your own towel, sun lotion, sunglasses and a windbreaker. The boat provides the rest.

Is this one for you?Book a smaller group if you want a quieter experience and more personalized attention from the captain. Larger groups keep the per-person cost down and fill the boat's full 60% shade. Either way, you're choosing your snorkel stops with the captain based on the day's conditions, so the route adapts to what you want to see.

Top questions
Can I snorkel if I've never done it before?
Yes. The guide gives snorkeling instruction before you enter the water, and the boat provides full equipment including inflatable vests and noodles, so you have flotation support if you need it.
What happens if the sea is rough on the day I book?
The captain assesses sea conditions each day and advises you of the best snorkel stops and swim spots. The catamaran's design lets it ride the waves smoothly, but the captain will adjust the route to keep the experience safe and comfortable.
Does the charter stop at beaches where I can walk around?
The itinerary includes snorkel stops in the water and a final swim, but the main stops are water-based. Maho Beach is a pass-by stop to watch planes land and photograph them. After the charter ends at Bobby's Marina in Great Bay, you're already in town and can browse shops or taste local Guavaberry rum if you want.
How many people will be on the boat?
You choose the group size at checkout: options range from one person to a maximum of 26 passengers. Smaller groups get a more intimate experience. Larger groups share the cost.
What's included in the open bar?
Beer, rum punch, vodka and gin cocktails, sodas, juices and water are available throughout the three hours. Snacks (mini baguette sandwiches with ham and cheese or tuna) are served after the first snorkel stop.
Where does the charter pick me up?
The charter departs from and returns to Bobby's Marina at the St. Maarten Cruise Port in Great Bay. If you're arriving by ship, the tender is right there. If you're staying on the island, the marina is easy to reach by car or local transport.
