Paddle deserted coves, explore hidden caves, watch for sea turtles and stingrays

A two-hour stand-up paddleboarding tour along St Kitts' coastline where you paddle past volcanic rock formations, deserted coves and hidden caves while looking for sea turtles and stingrays in the water. The tour includes a paddleboard, paddle and lifejacket. Guides speak English and German, and children from age 12 are welcome. You'll need at least moderate fitness and some prior SUP experience.

The experience

You start with a paddleboard, paddle and lifejacket in hand, then push off along the St Kitts coast away from the main beaches. The paddle takes you past volcanic rock formations and into deserted coves where the water stays calm enough to spot marine life below the surface. With some luck, a sea turtle or stingray will pass underneath or nearby. Your guide knows where to look and shares what you're seeing as it happens.

The route follows hidden caves carved into the coastline, and you'll paddle close enough to explore them from the water. A submerged shipwreck lies somewhere along the route too, adding a historical layer to what's mostly a slow, quiet paddle through water clear enough to see down. The whole outing runs two hours, which means you're back with time left in the afternoon for other plans.

The guides are experienced and lead in English or German. They handle safety and point out what's worth noticing in the marine ecosystem. You'll need some prior experience on a SUP board and moderate fitness to handle the paddle, though the pace stays relaxed and the water stays protected from rough conditions.

What’s included

  • Paddleboard, paddle and lifejacket for the full two hours.
  • experienced guide leading in English or German.
  • access to deserted coves, hidden caves and the submerged shipwreck along the route.
