The experience
The coach leaves the Palma port and heads inland toward Valldemossa, climbing into the Serra de Tramuntana. You arrive in the village while it is still quiet: early enough to walk the cobbled streets without crowds, stop for a local coca de patatas (a small potato sponge cake) at a café, or join the guide for a slower pace through the lanes. The Carthusian Monastery and Chopin's House sit here if you want to enter them, though entry fees are separate. Catalina Thomàs, Mallorca's first saint, was born in this village. Her home is now a chapel you can visit on foot.
From Valldemossa, the drive winds through the Tramuntana range: a UNESCO World Heritage site that runs parallel to the northwestern coast. You pass the viewpoint at Sa Foradada, where a hole in the mountainside is visible from the road (legend says a cannon shot made it during a 1582 war). The route takes you through Llucalcari and Deia, a small town where you can watch for familiar faces if you know the place. The coach then descends to Port Soller, a natural harbor ringed by hills, where you have about an hour to walk the waterfront, browse the shops or sit by the water. After that, the return drive takes you back to the Palma port in time to reboard your ship.
A live guide travels with you in your choice of English, Spanish, Italian, French or German. All transport, taxes and port logistics are included. Food and drinks are your own expense, as are any monastery or house entries you choose to make.

What is the Carthusian Monastery in Valldemossa?
The Royal Carthusian Monastery, known locally as la Cartoixa de Valldemossa, was originally the residence of King Sancho I of Mallorca in the 14th century, then became a royal palace and later a monastery for Carthusian monks. It still stands in the village center and is open to visitors, though entry is not included in the tour price.
How much free time do I have in Port Soller?
You have about one hour in Port Soller to walk around the natural harbor, explore the waterfront, visit shops or sit at a café. The guide will let you know when to return to the coach for the drive back to the Palma port.
Can I visit Chopin's House in Valldemossa?
Chopin's House is located in Valldemossa and you can visit it on your own during the time spent in the village, but entry is not included in the tour price and you pay the entrance fee separately.
Will the tour get me back to my cruise ship on time?
Yes. At the time of booking, you provide your ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time, and the tour is timed to return you to the Palma port before your ship departs. The operator guarantees this with the Worry-Free Shore Excursion Guarantee.
What is Sa Foradada?
Sa Foradada is a famous viewpoint in the Serra de Tramuntana where a hole is visible in the mountainside. Local legend says the hole was made by a cannon shot during a war in 1582, though its true origin is older. You pass it on the drive through the mountains.
