A 2-hour textile workshop in Sencelles where you create a woven piece using indigenous Mallorcan fibers, guided by a local textile artist in her studio. You'll learn traditional weaving techniques, taste local wines and snacks as you work, and take your finished textile home. Transfer from the train station is included.

The experience

What makes this different from a typical art class is the place itself: you're working inside a textile artist's studio in the Sencelles countryside, surrounded by the materials and tools she actually uses. The experience centers on Mallorcan wool and fibers that are part of a larger effort to recover traditional island textiles that have nearly disappeared. You're not watching a demonstration. You're at the loom, learning to weave and shape a piece that becomes yours to take away.

The 2 hours move between making and tasting. As you work with the fibers, you'll taste a selection of local wines and snacks, each one chosen to pair with the creative process. The artist guides you through the ancient techniques specific to these materials, so even if you've never woven before, you'll finish with a completed textile and the knowledge of how it came together. Transfer from the train station to the studio and back afterward is arranged for you.
