The experience

Three hours means you paddle out from the calm southern shore, moving through waters that sit among Tenerife's richest marine environments. The kayaks are stable and designed for beginners, and the guides (locals with expert knowledge of the area) stay with small groups throughout. You'll paddle beneath the volcanic rock formations that define this coastline, passing the famous Palm-Mar Cave and the cliffs that rise directly from the sea. This is the only way to reach many of these spots. The water is the route.

When you stop to snorkel, you drop into clear Atlantic water where parrotfish, damselfish, trumpetfish and rays move through the shallows. The guides know where the fish congregate by season and sea conditions. Dolphins and sea turtles do inhabit these waters (the area is known for frequent encounters), but they are wild animals and their presence is never guaranteed. You'll have time to swim, explore and simply float in the water while the guide points out what moves beneath you.

All snorkeling and kayaking equipment comes with you. Instruction is built in. Juice, fruit and a cereal bar are provided, and insurance is included. The activity runs three hours, though timing shifts with weather and sea state. Rough seas cancel the day outright. Rain doesn't. If conditions force a cancellation, you'll get an alternative date or a full refund.
