What’s included

Your day includes hotel pickup from Marbella or surrounding areas, round-trip express ferry tickets between Spain and Morocco, private transportation throughout Tangier with WiFi onboard, all entry fees (including Kasbah, Hercules Caves, synagogues), a professional licensed local guide leading you through sites like Cape Spartel and Perdicaris Park, camel ride by the beach, bottled water throughout the journey, plus both breakfast and lunch featuring Moroccan cuisine served on a panoramic terrace before returning home in comfort.

I didn’t expect the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier to feel so quick—one moment we were watching seagulls chase the boat, the next our guide Ali was waving at us from behind a sign with my name (I always feel awkward seeing my name like that). The air smelled salty and new, and I kept thinking: we’re actually in Africa now. Our driver handed us bottled water and grinned when I tried out “shukran”—he said it better, of course.

The first thing Ali did was take us through wide boulevards past the Mohammed V Mosque—white stone against a sky that looked almost too blue. Then suddenly we were winding up towards Cape Spartel. There’s this spot where you can see the Atlantic crash into the Mediterranean below; it’s loud and windy and somehow peaceful at once. I tried to take a photo but it never catches that feeling. We stopped for mint tea in the kasbah later (the glass was hot in my hand), looking down over rooftops tangled with laundry lines. The medina was chaos—colors everywhere, kids darting between stalls, spices thick in the air. I lost track of time there.

Lunch was on a terrace above the old city. Tagine with preserved lemon—tangy and rich—and bread so warm you could tear it apart with your fingers. Ali told us about Tangier’s wild history while we ate; he made it sound like every empire had left something behind in these streets. At one point he laughed at my attempt to say “Perdicaris Park” in French—I definitely butchered it. We rode camels along a stretch of sand near Hercules Caves (it’s bumpier than I thought), then wandered inside where the sea entrance really does look like Africa on a map if you squint right.

I still think about that view from Cape Spartel sometimes—the way two seas meet but don’t mix right away. By late afternoon we were back at the port, tired but kind of wired too, arms full of little things from the souk and heads spinning with new sounds and smells. It all went by fast but left this odd sense of having been somewhere much farther than just across a strait.
