The experience

The boat leaves Port of Addaia, a small natural harbor on Menorca's north coast, with a local guide who both skippers and narrates the route. You're headed to coves most visitors never reach by land: Cala Pudent, a virgin beach where Posidonia meadows draw fish close to shore; a rocky unnamed cove with a spectacular seabed; and Savinar de Mongofra, an isolated inlet that stays empty even in high season because there's no road to it. The motorboat is built for twelve, so the group stays small enough that the guide can point out what's moving in the water and answer questions without shouting.

At each stop, you put on the snorkeling gear (included) and slip in using the boat's ladder. Cala Pudent's sand banks and seagrass meadows fill with the island's characteristic marine fauna. The guide knows what you're looking at and why it matters. The water is shallow and transparent, so you see the seabed clearly. Between snorkel sites, you swim in turquoise shallows that feel like a natural pool because the north coast's gentle slope and light breeze keep the waves down. The boat also passes the Favaritx Lighthouse, a white tower with a black spiral band perched on slate cliffs, though you're seeing it from the water, not climbing to it.

The whole outing runs three hours, and you're back at Port of Addaia by the agreed time. The operator holds that as a hard stop. Arrive twenty minutes early so the boat can leave on schedule. Life jackets are provided and required. Paddle surf boards are on board if you want them. If you're traveling with an infant, they sit on an adult's lap. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, or French depending on the departure you book.

What's the water like for snorkeling at Cala Pudent?

Cala Pudent has shallow, transparent water with sand banks and Posidonia meadows that attract fish and marine life typical of Menorca's north coast. The gentle slope and light breeze keep waves moderate, so visibility stays good and the water feels calm.

How many people fit on the boat?

The semi-rigid motorboat holds up to twelve travelers, so the group stays small enough for the guide to point out marine life and answer questions throughout the three hours.

Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?

Snorkeling equipment is included in the excursion. Life jackets and a ladder for entering and exiting the water are also provided.

What is the Favaritx Lighthouse like?

The Favaritx Lighthouse sits on a cape with a distinctive white tower marked by a black spiral band, surrounded by imposing slate cliffs in a rugged natural setting. You see it from the boat as you pass along the coast, not as a stop where you go ashore.

A roundtrip shuttle service is available. Contact the operator to arrange it based on where you're staying.
