Itálica Ruins Tour: Amphitheatre & Wine Tasting
An amphitheatre the size of Rome's, a monastery fortress, and a winery in one afternoon
A guided tour from Seville to Itálica, the Roman city founded in 206 BC that birthed emperors Trajan and Hadrian, plus the medieval San Isidoro del Campo Monastery and a wine tasting. You walk the ancient streets with a live guide (English, Spanish or French), see the third-largest amphitheatre in the world where gladiator fights took place, discover mosaics and the Traianeum, and finish with a traditional winery tasting. The tour runs four hours and includes all transport, entry tickets and the guide.
Step-by-step itinerary

- See Historic Italica ruins
- Visit Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo

The Experience
Itálica sits nine kilometres outside Seville, and the tour picks you up and drives you there in an air-conditioned vehicle. Once you arrive, your guide walks you through the Roman streets themselves—not a museum display, but the actual ground where the city stood. You'll see the amphitheatre, which is the third largest in the world and was used for gladiator fights; it's also the one where Game of Thrones was filmed. The mosaics are still visible underfoot, and the Traianeum and the ancient baths show you how the Romans built luxury outside Italy. The Roman theatre, discovered in the mid-20th century, is one of Europe's best preserved, and plays are still performed there.
After Itálica, the tour moves to San Isidoro del Campo, a medieval fortress-monastery where the guide shows you smaller treasures inside the larger structure. Then you finish at a traditional winery for a tasting—not a rushed sample, but time to sit and drink. The whole day is four hours, which means the stops fit without feeling hurried, and the transport between them is included. Your guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on which option you choose at checkout.

- Itálica entry ticket and San Isidoro del Campo Monastery ticket.
