Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Valencia's historic center
- Meet local expert guide
- Visit L'Almoina Archaeological Museum
- Admire La Lonja de la Seda Gothic architecture
- See Valencia Cathedral and Holy Grail
- Wander through Central Market
- Taste regional specialties (small groups only)
The experience
You arrive in Valencia with a free afternoon or morning, and you want to understand the city without the pace of a group. A private guide meets you at a time that suits your day and leads you on foot through the historic center, moving at your own rhythm. The route is yours to shape: focus on the Roman layers beneath the city at L'Almoina, linger over the Gothic vaults of La Lonja de la Seda (the Silk Exchange, a UNESCO site), or spend time in the Cathedral where locals say the Holy Grail sits in a chapel. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or one of three other languages, and knows the stories that don't make it into guidebooks.
The walk takes in the Modernista Central Market, built in the early 1900s, where the iron and glass frame the stalls the way it did a century ago. If your group is six people or fewer, the tour includes a tasting of regional specialties: horchata, the sweet tiger nut drink, and fartons, the pastries made to go with it. Entry to both museums is already paid. You walk past the ticket line. The whole tour runs about 2.5 hours, which leaves room in your day for lunch or another neighborhood.
The route is on foot and mostly flat, though the historic quarter has some uneven paving and narrow streets. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. All the sites you'll visit are accessible. If you're traveling with small children, they can ride in a pram, and the guide will adjust the pace and stops to keep everyone comfortable.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 14).
What is La Lonja de la Seda and why is it on this tour?
La Lonja de la Seda, the Silk Exchange, is a 15th-century Gothic building where merchants traded silk and other goods, and it's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's included because it's one of Valencia's most important architectural landmarks and tells the story of the city's wealth during the medieval period. Your guide will explain the building's design and its role in Valencia's history.
Can I choose which sites we visit, or is the route fixed?
The itinerary is personalized to your interests, so you work with your guide to decide where to spend your time. You might focus on the archaeological museum, the Cathedral, the market, or the Gothic quarter. The guide will help you fit the sites that matter most to you into the 2.5 hours.
Is the horchata and fartons tasting included for everyone, or only some groups?
The tasting is included only for groups of up to six people. If your party is larger, you and your guide can still visit the market and taste the specialties on your own, but the tour operator won't provide them as part of the package.
How much walking is involved, and are there breaks?
The tour is on foot through the historic center, covering the main sites over 2.5 hours. The pace is flexible and set by you and your guide, so you can stop as often as you like to look at details, take photos, or rest. The streets are mostly flat, though some older paving is uneven.
