One instructor, one student, one full set of gear means you progress faster than in a group.

A private kitesurfing lesson in Tarifa pairs you with a certified IKO instructor for personalized coaching across two hours, using premium Duotone kites, boards, wetsuits, harnesses, impact vests and radio helmets. The school operates in English, Spanish and French, welcomes children from age 7, and includes rescue boat service. Lessons suit all levels from beginner to advanced.

The experience

Tarifa sits on one of the world's best kitesurfing coasts, with steady wind, endless sand and views across to Africa. A private lesson means the instructor watches only you, adjusts the pace to your progress, and uses a radio helmet to coach you in real time as you're on the water. You get a full set of top-brand equipment (Duotone kites, boards, wetsuits, harnesses and impact vests), so there's no guessing about fit or quality.

The two-hour session is built around what you need to learn. Beginners start with the fundamentals of kite control and body positioning in the shallows. If you already ride, the instructor focuses on the skills holding you back, whether that's transitions, tricks or confidence in stronger wind. Radio helmets mean feedback happens in the moment, not after you come back to shore. A rescue boat stands by throughout, part of the Levante wind service the school runs.

The school speaks English, Spanish and French, and takes students from age 7 up. If you're new to the sport and have a free afternoon, a private lesson compresses what might take several group sessions into one focused block. If you already kitesurf, it's the fastest way to break through a plateau.
