The Experience

I didn’t expect to start my day in Olot by climbing right into a volcano. The city just kind of melts into the green slopes, and then suddenly you’re crunching up this path made of dark stones—volcanic, I guess. We reached the top where two old watchtowers stand guard. There’s even a tiny church tucked inside the crater itself—honestly surreal. The audio pointed out the Pyrenees in the distance; clouds were snagged on them that morning. I sat for a bit on the low wall, legs dangling over the edge, just watching Olot spread out below. Didn’t expect to feel so small up there, or so calm.
