The Experience

Cala Sant Vicenç is where the guide meets you and walks through kayak technique before the paddle begins — how to hold the paddle, how to move through the water, what keeps you stable. Once you're on the water, the route takes you 8 kilometers along the coast, passing Cala Molins, Cala Clara and Cala Barques on the way. The water is shallow enough to see the seabed in places, and you'll paddle between reefs where smaller fish move through the rocks.

A natural rock bridge spans the water partway through — you paddle underneath it, the cliff face rising on both sides. Then the route opens into deeper water where the cliffs of Cavall Bernat come into view, tall and sheer above the sea. The paddle ends at Cala Estremer, a beach with no road access, only water. Once you land, the snorkeling starts: you can wade in and dive with a mask, or climb the rock walls above the beach and jump into the sea from there. The guide is with you throughout.

The whole outing runs 3.5 hours from start to finish. Dolphins sometimes appear during the paddle, though there's no guarantee. The guide speaks English or Spanish, so you hear the route explained in your language. You'll need at least moderate fitness for the paddling and the climbing, and you must be 16 or older.
