Serra de Tramuntana cliff jumps, sea plunge pools, local guide

You’ll arrive in Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana and suit up for cliff jumping with a small group and local guide—starting with easy jumps before building up to higher ledges over turquoise sea pools. Expect laughter, nerves, salty air, and real encouragement along the way. Hotel pickup is included so you can just focus on that first leap—and maybe conquering your own nerves.

itinerary

Step-by-step itinerary

Day 1 — Cliff jumping adventure in Mallorca

  • Travel to Serra de Tramuntana mountains
  • Take in panoramic mountain views
  • Put on wetsuit
  • Attend safety briefing
  • Walk along cliff tops
  • Learn to jump from 3 meters
  • Practice jumps and improve technique
  • Jump from highest ledges
  • Leap into sea plunge pools

We pulled up in this little minivan outside Sóller—still half-asleep, honestly, but the air smelled like pine and salt and something else I couldn’t place. Our guide, Toni, was all smiles and jokes about “Mallorcan breakfast” (apparently it’s just coffee and adrenaline). He handed out wetsuits right there on the gravel. I never thought neoprene could feel so weirdly comforting—tight but safe. The others in our group were swapping nervous grins; nobody wanted to admit they were scared of the first jump.

The walk along the cliffs was louder than I expected—wind whipping around us, sea crashing below. Toni pointed out a little cove where his cousins used to fish as kids. I kept thinking: this is UNESCO-protected land, but here we are about to leap off it. First jump was three meters. My legs turned to jelly at the edge, but everyone cheered (I think someone filmed me flailing). The water hit cold and sharp—woke me up faster than any espresso ever could.

By the time we reached what Toni called “the Big One,” my hands were shaking—not from cold anymore but from that mix of fear and excitement you only get when you’re about to do something stupid-brave. I hesitated longer than I’ll admit here. But then… I went for it. That split second in the air felt endless; my stomach somewhere up near my throat. When I surfaced, Toni clapped me on the back and said something in rapid Mallorquín—I probably butchered my answer trying to repeat it back. Still makes me laugh thinking about it now.

Hotel pickup meant no stress getting there or back (which was good because by the end my arms felt like noodles). We all swapped stories in the van on the way home—sunburnt noses, sand everywhere, big grins. Can’t say I’ll ever look at a cliff quite the same way again.
