The Experience

The tour starts in Málaga Park (also called Alameda Park), the 19th-century green space in the city center that was renovated in 2007. From there, a local guide leads the group on Segways toward the landmarks that define the city. The route takes in the Port of Málaga, one of the oldest continuously operated ports in Spain and the Mediterranean, founded by Phoenicians around 1000 BC. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian or German depending on the group.

The real advantage of a Segway here is Gibralfaro Castle. Reaching it on foot means a steep uphill walk; on a Segway, you arrive at the viewpoint without the climb and can actually look at what you came to see. The tour includes a photo stop at the castle's mirador (viewpoint). From there, the route passes the Alcazaba, Málaga's other major fortress, and La Malagueta Bullring—the historic arena where bullfighting remains central to Andalusian culture and identity. The whole loop takes 90 minutes.

Before the tour begins, you get a short training session on the Segway and wear a helmet and safety equipment throughout.
