This is your chance to try axe throwing in Madrid with a friendly local instructor guiding you through every step. Practice your aim, experiment with different axes, and enjoy drinks from the bar—all in a lively urban setting where everyone gets to join in on the fun.
“You’re up!” our instructor called out, and suddenly it was my turn to step into the lane. The sound of axes thudding into wood echoed around us—kind of sharp, kind of satisfying. I could smell sawdust mixed with something sweet from the bar nearby, and honestly, my hands felt a bit sweaty as I gripped the handle for the first time.
Our AXEpert showed us how to stand, how to flick our wrists just right. Some folks in our group got it on their first try; others (like me) needed a few more throws before hearing that solid “chunk” as the blade stuck. We switched between different axes—some heavier, some lighter—and even tried trick shots once we got the hang of it. There was plenty of laughter when someone’s axe bounced off harmlessly or landed sideways.
The whole place had this easy-going vibe. Locals dropped by after work, chatting over drinks while waiting their turn. Even kids joined in with their parents (as long as they wore closed shoes), and one little guy cheered every time his dad hit the target. Our guide kept things moving and made sure everyone felt comfortable—no pressure if you missed, just encouragement and tips to help you improve.
