The Experience

You arrive at La Herradura and step into a double kayak already fitted with a life jacket—no assembly, no guessing about fit. For the next two hours you paddle along a stretch of Mediterranean coast that has no road access, only water. The Cerro Gordo-Maro Natural Park runs between Nerja and La Herradura and opens up a different coastline than the beaches: high cliffs rise above you, sea caves cut into the rock, and small coves appear around each turn. The guide navigates the route and points out the terrain—rocky areas, patches of flora clinging to the cliff face, the spots where the water stays deepest and clearest.

The water is the real draw.
