The experience
How do you reach a place that has no road? The Puertas del Cielo area sits in one of Ibiza's few untouched zones, hemmed in by cliffs over 250 meters high that cut it off from land entirely. A jet ski is the only way in. You depart from San Antonio on a two-person machine, fuel included, wearing a lifevest and riding with a specialized monitor who speaks English, Spanish or Italian. The route itself is the draw: you cross open water toward Isla Margarita, an island with a natural arch that divers favor for its seabed, then cut through a series of coves. Cala Salada and its twin Cala Saladeta, both ringed by barely developed green hillside, then Cala Aubarca, a cove-shaped inlet tucked between cliffs in the north.
At Cala Aubarca you stop. The water is clear enough to see the bottom, and the cove is sheltered enough to swim and snorkel safely (weather permitting). If two of you are riding together, you can switch who operates the jet ski here. The monitor stays with you throughout, and the whole outing runs roughly 80 minutes from the moment you leave San Antonio until you're back at the meeting point, ready to head into town or back to your accommodation.

Is this one for you?The 80-minute round trip leaves most of your day free for other activities in or around San Antonio, making it a morning or afternoon slot rather than a full-day commitment. If you want to explore Ibiza's coast without a car or a longer boat tour, this fits the window.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Puertas del Cielo actually like when you get there?
Puertas del Cielo is a remote cove surrounded by sheer cliffs and strange rock formations, accessible only by water because the land approach is blocked by the cliff face. The water is crystal clear, and the site is considered one of Ibiza's most magical and wild places, untouched because of its isolation.
Can you swim and snorkel during the jet ski tour?
Yes, you stop at Cala Aubarca for a rest break where you can swim and snorkel in the clear water, weather permitting. This is the main pause in the ride and gives you time in the water before heading back to San Antonio.
Do I have to drive the jet ski myself, or is it guided?
You ride as a passenger with a specialized monitor who operates the jet ski and guides you past the landmarks. If two people are on the machine together, you can switch drivers at the rest stop if you want to take a turn.
What coves and islands do you pass on the way to Puertas del Cielo?
The route passes Cala Gració and Punta Galera near San Antonio, then Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta (two of Ibiza's most visited beaches, set in green countryside), Cap Nonó (a pine-covered cape with vertical sea cliffs), and Isla Margarita (an island with a natural arch, popular with divers). You end at Cala Aubarca in the north, a cove between cliffs in a protected natural area.
