The experience

You step aboard the Blue Dragon, a Lagoon 380 catamaran moored at Cala Jondal on Ibiza's southern coast, and the boat begins to move. Captains Nuria and Marcelo have been sailing these waters for over 30 years. They know where the water turns from turquoise to that almost-unreal pale green that means shallow sand below. The catamaran holds up to 10 passengers, so there's room to move without feeling crowded, and as you glide past the rocky coves and dramatic cliffs of Ibiza's south coast, you can actually take the helm if you want to. The first stop is a secluded cove: the kind of place that doesn't show up on the main beaches map. You drop anchor in water so clear you can see the bottom, and snorkeling gear is already on board.
