The experience

You'll meet your guide at the starting point and get fitted with a helmet, then spend the first few minutes getting comfortable on the Segway before the route begins. The tour moves through the city center, passing Plaza Nueva and Paseo de los Tristes (the riverside promenade that runs along the Darro) before heading into Albaicín. This is where the Segway becomes practical: the neighborhood sits on a steep hill with narrow, winding streets that climb sharply, and the Segway handles the grade without the effort of walking uphill through tight medieval lanes.

Albaicín itself is the draw. It's the old Moorish quarter, built to the layout of a medieval Islamic city, with streets so narrow that cars can't fit and the architecture (whitewashed walls, carved wooden balconies, the remnants of the gypsy caves in Sacromonte visible from certain angles) reflects centuries of that history.
