Step-by-step itinerary
Volcanoes and wine tasting tour
- Visit Bandama Caldera
- Tour traditional winery and taste wine and cheese
- Explore authentic Canary Islands town
- Visit Pico de las Nieves viewpoint
- Discover Caldera de los Marteles
The experience
Bandama Caldera is the day's anchor: a volcanic crater that reveals the geological story of how Gran Canaria itself was formed. Your guide walks you through the site and explains what shaped this landscape, then you move inland toward the island's center. The route climbs steadily, and the vegetation and air change as you gain elevation.
A traditional winery is the heart of the experience. You meet the producers themselves, learn their process for making Canarian wine, and taste their current releases alongside local cheeses. This stop does not run on Sundays. If your tour falls on a Sunday, the winery offers a tasting only, without the full production tour. After the winery, you have time in a small Canary Islands town: a chance to walk around, eat if you choose (meals are not included), and see how locals live away from the coast.
Pico de las Nieves, the highest point in Gran Canaria, comes next. The views stretch across the interior to Roque Nublo, the island's natural icon, and on clear days reach all the way to Mount Teide on Tenerife. The air is noticeably cooler and thinner here. You finish at Caldera de los Marteles, another volcanic crater, this one surrounded by cultivated fields that have taken root in the fertile volcanic soil over centuries. The drive back to your pickup point takes you through the same interior landscape you climbed into at the start.

Is this one for you?Choose the all-inclusive option if you want meals and other services bundled in. Pick the tour-only option if you prefer to eat on your own schedule in the town stop and want a lower starting price. The five-and-a-half to seven-hour span means you can fit this into a port day if you have that much time, though the full experience works best when you are not rushing back to a ship.
