The experience

Two hours at Bodega Los Lirios starts in the vineyard itself, where the volcanic soil and the particular slope of Bandama shape what grows here. You walk among the local grape varieties (the ones that thrive in this landscape), and learn why growing wine on volcanic terrain means solving problems most vineyards never face. The guide explains the traditions specific to Gran Canaria and what makes these grapes different from what you'd find elsewhere in Spain.

From the vineyard you move into the cellar to see how the grapes become wine. This is where the family's process unfolds: the equipment, the decisions, the time. You taste one glass of Los Lirios wine, and it arrives at the table with a plate of local delicacies: almogrote, Canarian cheese, olives, marmalade, mojo sauce and bread. The restaurant sits among the vineyards and the volcanic landscape, so the tasting is not separate from where the wine comes from. You're still standing in it.

The winery is wheelchair accessible and has parking on-site. Guides speak English or Spanish. If you're traveling with infants, strollers are welcome and specialized infant seats are available. The experience suits all fitness levels, though the vineyard walk is the core of it.
