The experience

The tour starts in the island's heart, in the mountains above the clouds. You'll meet your guide and receive a front light, then hike through the forest where the guide explains the geology of Gran Canaria and points out details most visitors miss. The route leads to Ventana del Nublo, a viewpoint in Tejeda that frames Roque Nublo and the peak of Teide across the water. You arrive as the light begins to change, and that's when the astronomy starts: the guide talks through the basic concepts while the sky darkens and the stars emerge.

Once full darkness settles, the real work begins: learning to read the night sky with your own eyes. The guide helps you identify constellations, planets, and on clear nights, the Milky Way stretching across the sky. No telescopes are used, which means you're building a skill you can use every night for the rest of your life, anywhere you travel. Snacks and hot drinks arrive while you're watching, so you stay warm and fed through the stargazing part of the evening.
