Dolphin observation Gran Canaria: Hybrid boat, small group
The hybrid engines are quiet enough that dolphins approach the boat on their own.
A 3-hour dolphin observation tour in Gran Canaria departs from Pasito Blanco Harbour aboard the Senda del Azul, a hybrid vessel with electric engines that run nearly silent. With a maximum of 8 guests and a marine biologist on board, you search for bottlenose, Atlantic spotted, and other cetacean species in their natural habitat. Part of your fare supports whale and dolphin conservation through the WeWhale Association.

The experience
The Rodman 1100 hybrid boat leaves Pasito Blanco Harbour powered by two electric engines that produce minimal noise: a deliberate choice that changes how dolphins behave around you. The quiet approach means the animals often come closer naturally, without the stress of engine noise driving them away. You'll spend the three hours searching for bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins, common dolphins, Risso's dolphins, striped dolphins, and short-finned pilot whales, all within the waters around Gran Canaria.
Skipper Víctor and marine biologist Paula guide the tour together. Paula provides live interpretation throughout, explaining the behaviour and biology of the species you encounter and their conservation status. With only 8 guests maximum, the boat never feels crowded, and everyone gets a clear view from the deck. The crew shares knowledge that turns the experience into something more than watching. It becomes a learning encounter with the animals themselves.
Soda, bottled water, fresh and dry fruits, and a WeWhale Fin & Foam Beer come aboard. The proceeds from your booking support conservation work through the WeWhale Association, so your participation directly funds protection efforts for the cetaceans you're there to see.
