The canyon is designed for learning and families, with a live guide in English, Spanish or French; safety equipment, harnesses and neoprene provided; a photo report and light refreshments included. Minimum age is 12, and you'll need to swim and have moderate fitness.

The experience

The Riera de Osor sits in the heart of the Guilleries, in the La Selva region, and it's the water current with the most flow in the area. You descend the ravine using rope progression techniques, moving through narrow sections, jumping into pools and sliding down natural chutes. The canyon opens up emerald water drops, waterfalls, flooded galleries and light effects throughout the descent: a ravine well-worked by water over time, with jumps and passages built into the rock itself.

The activity runs three hours and is built around learning and exploration rather than speed or difficulty. A live guide leads you through the route in your choice of English, Spanish or French, managing the rope work and pacing so the group stays together. You wear a harness, neoprene and safety equipment throughout. The operator provides all of it. At the end you get a photo report of the descent, soft drinks, beer and a small snack.

You'll need to be comfortable in water and have at least moderate fitness to manage the jumps and climbs. The minimum age is 12. Accident insurance is included in the booking.
