The Experience

Our party host kept everyone together somehow (herding cats comes to mind), and by the time we hit the second round of drinks I’d forgotten half the group’s names but remembered their stories. There was this Australian guy who claimed he could out-sing anyone. He couldn’t.

The last stop was this massive club — honestly, I never would’ve found it on my own. We skipped a line that looked like it belonged outside a stadium. Inside: lights everywhere, bass so heavy you could feel it in your chest. No stress about getting in or paying extra — just straight onto the dance floor with everyone else from the crawl. At some point someone bought me another drink (no idea who), and I ended up talking to a local about why Catalan is so different from Spanish. Still think about that view of the beach at 3am when we finally stumbled out — weirdly peaceful after all that noise.
