Step-by-step itinerary

- Stop at viewpoint over Arguineguin
- Visit small Canarian village for drink
- Enjoy multiple mountain and canyon views
- Cross Mogan village and see windmill
- Return drive along seaside
The experience
You get behind the wheel of an actual 1970s Buggy, not a replica, and drive it yourself across Gran Canaria's interior. A qualified instructor rides with your group and leads the route, which typically climbs into the canyon, crosses through Mogán village to see the old windmill, then descends to the coast. The road passes a viewpoint overlooking Arguineguín and the island's southern shore, where the Maspalomas lighthouse and the former NASA space center (used for the Apollo 11 mission) sit visible in the distance. Multiple stops let you take in the mountain and canyon views without rushing.
The route includes a drink stop in a small Canarian village built into the canyon, where refreshments are already paid for. You'll collect coffee or tea at the start, bottled water throughout, and all the photos the operator captures during the ride post free to their Facebook page afterward. The whole experience runs 2.5 hours, so you can plan the rest of your day without pressure. Pickup is included, and the operator speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and one additional language. If the standard route doesn't match what you want to see, contact them before booking to discuss a personalized version of the same ride.
Two purchase options let you choose your role: the Drive Test puts you at the wheel for the full route, while the Ride option means you experience the buggy and the scenery without operating the vehicle yourself. Both include the same stops, refreshments and photo collection.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Maspalomas lighthouse and why does it appear on this route?
The Maspalomas lighthouse stands at the southern tip of Gran Canaria and is visible from the coastal viewpoint the route reaches after climbing through the canyon. It marks a recognizable landmark on the island's horizon and sits near the former NASA space center, both of which you'll see from the overlook.
Can I customize the route if I want to see different parts of the island?
Yes. The operator adapts the route to your wishes and requests for a personalized tour in the south of the island. Contact them before booking to discuss the best possible route for what you want to see.
How many people can ride in one Buggy?
Groups stay at four riders per booking. The operator structures the excursion around small-group rides so the experience stays personal and the route remains flexible.
What happens during the village stop?
You stop in a small Canarian village located in the heart of the canyon, where a drink is included in the price. The stop gives you time to rest and take in the mountain views before continuing the ride.
Do I need driving experience to operate the Buggy?
The operator provides a qualified instructor who rides with your group and leads the route. The Buggy is designed to handle the terrain, and the instructor guides you through the drive. If you prefer not to operate the vehicle, the Ride option lets you experience the same route as a passenger.
