The experience
You spend three hours working with agave wood (the iconic plant of the Almería landscape) in a workshop run by Tim Bernhardt, an artisan who has built this space around the material's surprising possibilities. This is not a demonstration you watch from a seat. You work with your hands, guided through intuitive processes that don't require prior skill or experience. Families, musicians, artists and travelers of all ages participate in the same room, and the setup is designed so children and adults discover things at their own pace, often side by side.
The workshop moves between music, creation and conversation. You'll handle agave wood in its natural state, learn how it produces warm sound, and gradually shape your own piece: a craft or a musical instrument, depending on what draws you. Around you are natural aromas, finished instruments and the work of others in progress. Soda is provided, and you can have your finished piece personalized with laser engraving before you leave.
The space is wheelchair accessible throughout, and infants can come in a pram or stroller. Service animals are welcome. The guide speaks English, Spanish or German, so you can book in whichever language suits you.
