You'll start with instruction from the company's specialized staff: they've been running Segway tours here for over 15 years, and they'll have you comfortable on the machine in just a few minutes, regardless of whether you've ridden one before. The operator has taken riders from age 6 to 92, so the learning curve is built into the product.

Once you're steady, you ride through the Sculpture Park that surrounds Tower of Hercules, the oldest working lighthouse in the world. The route takes you past the park's sculptures and stops at the Celtic King monument that marks the city's founder. You then climb to the base of the lighthouse itself to stand in front of the tower and learn its history. The views from there are what the itinerary calls out as the highlight. The whole experience runs about an hour.

The tour operates 30 minutes' walk from the city center and the cruise port, though public transportation is nearby if you don't want to walk. You'll need to weigh no more than 130 kg (300 lbs) to ride, and the tour requires at least two people to depart. Note that you don't enter inside the lighthouse tower itself: the tour stops at its base.
