The experience
You meet at Hadan Station and take a city bus to an island village where oysters are farmed year-round. The ride gives you a sense of how the village sits outside the city: close enough to reach, far enough to feel separate. Once there, you walk through the working farms and see the tools and equipment oyster farmers use every day. You'll watch workers shucking oysters by hand, the kind of labor that happens before the food reaches a plate.
Lunch happens at a restaurant built around oyster dishes. You eat oyster soup with rice and oyster pancake, both made from what the village produces. While you eat, the guide talks through Korean food culture and the role of drinking in Korean meals: context that turns a meal into something you understand, not just taste. The bus ride back to Hadan Station takes about an hour, and you're done by mid-afternoon.
