The experience

The driver picks you up from your hotel and heads into Soweto, South Africa's largest township. The Hector Pieterson Memorial Museum explains the 1976 Soweto Uprising, when young people rose up against apartheid and changed the country. The Soweto Cooling Towers stand out in the skyline. You can see them from a distance or pay separately to climb them or even bungee jump between them if that's your kind of thing. The whole arc takes five hours. Bottled water is included.
