The experience

The tour starts at noon at the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Hotel. Your licensed guide meets you there and leads the first half on foot through Bratislava's historical center, moving at a walking pace through the Old Town's main squares and streets. You pass the Slovak National Theatre, the Reduta building, the Man at Work statue, Roland Fountain in Central Square, the Old Town Hall, the Franciscan Church, Primate's Palace, St. Michael's Gate, St. Catherine's Chapel, Mozart House and Academia Istropolitana, finishing at St. Martin's Cathedral. The walking section covers the core of what makes Bratislava's downtown recognizable.

After the walking tour, your guide drives you through the rest of the city by car. You pass the Presidential Palace and a district of early-20th-century functionalist villas, then reach Bratislava Castle for views across the city. The drive ends at Slavin Monument, a war memorial with a panorama of Bratislava spread below it. From there, you continue to Devin Castle, which sits on a hilltop where the Danube and Morava rivers meet and the borders of Slovakia, Austria and the Czech Republic converge. The castle dates to the 9th century and was once a stronghold during the Cold War. St. Cyril and St. Method, the patrons of Slovakia, lived and worked there. After Devin Castle, your guide drives you back to your hotel or to the city center where the tour ends.

The tour is private, meaning your group travels alone with the guide and the air-conditioned vehicle. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you do not arrange separate transport to the starting point or back.
