The Experience

The instructor at Flight Experience Singapore doesn't hand you a joystick and leave. She walks you through the pre-flight checks like you're actually about to push back from the gate, and then she steps back. The 737 simulator uses real commercial aircraft systems, 20,000 airports loaded into the database, and a 180-degree curved screen that wraps around you so completely that your brain forgets you're in a building in Singapore. You take the controls from the moment the wheels leave the tarmac.

The experience runs through a full flight cycle: you handle the take-off, manage the cruise at altitude, and then bring the plane down to land. How much guidance you want is up to you. Some people ask the instructor to talk them through every radio call. Others want to figure it out themselves and call for help when they're stuck. The simulator doesn't judge. You can land at a real airport you know, or pick somewhere challenging. The database has thousands. The whole thing takes about an hour, and by the end you'll have a certificate with your name on it that actually means you flew the plane, even if the ground never moved.

Two people can come into the flight deck with you to watch live, and there's a lounge area for anyone else in your group where they can see what you're doing on a TV feed. Kids from age six can do this: booster seats are available if they need them to reach the controls properly. The place is near public transport, so you don't need a rental car to get there. Coffee, tea, and snacks are included, which is good because the adrenaline makes you thirsty.
