If you want to go inside, you can swap it for something else. There's a pretty loch with hills rising straight up from the water, a chance to see Highland cattle if you're visiting between April and October, and a town that feels like the actual entrance to the Highlands rather than a postcard version of one. The Falls of Dochart near Killin are wide and set around rock formations with an old bridge and views toward Ben Lawers—and if anyone wants local smoked salmon, there's a smokehouse right there.
