The experience
If you've just arrived in Jeddah or Makkah and want to perform Umrah without navigating the ritual alone, a local guide meets you before you enter ihram and stays with you through every step. The guide speaks English and walks you through the sequence so you understand what you're doing and why, not just moving through the motions. You'll head to the Haram mosque together, complete the seven circuits of Tawaf, pray two rak'ahs, and drink Zamzam water. The guide keeps the pace steady and answers questions as you go.
After Tawaf, you move to the mas'a (the corridor for Sa'i) and walk back and forth between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah seven times, following the Prophet Muhammad's practice. Once Sa'i is complete, you visit a barber for the final step: the hair cutting that marks the end of Umrah. An air-conditioned vehicle handles your transport throughout, and parking fees are covered. The whole experience takes between 2 to 6 hours. The length depends on how busy the mosque is and how much time you want to spend in prayer.
Pickup happens from your hotel in Jeddah or Makkah, or from the airport if that's where you're starting. The guide drops you back at the same location when you're finished. Children from age 1 are welcome, and the vehicle has specialized infant seats available if you need one.
