The experience
You start in the living room with Gahwa and dates, then move into the kitchen to learn how to make magloba chicken with rice and vegetables, a yogurt and cucumber salad, and fruit. The guide walks you through each step and explains the ingredients and techniques of Saudi home cooking. You're not watching a demonstration. You're the one doing the work, handling the ingredients and learning the timing that makes the dish come together.
After two hours, the meal you prepared is ready to eat. You sit down together and taste what you made, which is the point of learning to cook it in the first place. The class is small enough that the guide can correct your technique and answer questions about why things are done a certain way in Saudi kitchens. Hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange your own transport to Ferial family House.
What’s included
- Gahwa (Saudi coffee) and dates.
- the complete meal you prepare (magloba chicken with rice and vegetables, yogurt salad, fruit).
- hotel pickup.
- live English-speaking guide for the full 2 hours.
