The experience
Your guide meets you at your hotel and drives you through Jeddah in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. The day moves between old and new: you'll walk through the narrow harrat (neighborhoods) of Al Balad, where ancient buildings, souqs and hidden galleries sit alongside traditional coral masonry and wooden latticework. The pedestrianized street along the red coast brings you to the Floating Mosque, which appears to hover on pillars above the water. You'll also see the city's tallest flagpole and stop for photos at historical houses that blend traditional and modern architecture.
Al Tayebat Museum occupies a multiroom complex designed to recreate traditional Hijazi architecture, with several floors of exhibits covering Jeddah's 3,000-year history and its Islamic heritage. Before that, you'll visit local cafés in Al Balad (the kind where residents gather, not tourist spots), and walk through the Balad marketplace, which sells electronics, perfumes, spices, dates and honey. The itinerary also takes you to the Art Promenade, a quiet waterfront area near the marina, and along the Jeddah Corniche, the 30 km coastal resort that runs along the Red Sea and includes King Fahd's Fountain.
After the guided portion, you have two hours free to shop or explore at a location your guide chooses for convenience. The private vehicle then returns you to your hotel. Museum entry, all transportation, bottled water and taxes are included in the price.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (2 to 10 years); Infant (under 2): free.
What is the Floating Mosque and where is it in Jeddah?
The Floating Mosque, also called Masjid Al Rahma, is one of Jeddah's most popular attractions, built on pillars in the Red Sea so it appears to float above the water. It sits in the narrow alleys of old Jeddah town off Suq Al Alawi, on the pedestrianized street along the red coast.
How much time do I spend walking versus driving on this tour?
The tour mixes both: you walk through Al Balad's old neighborhoods, the marketplace and along the red coast to the Floating Mosque, then drive to the museum, the Corniche and the Art Promenade. The exact balance depends on your pace and interests, but the private vehicle is air-conditioned and available throughout the eight-hour day.
What is Al Tayebat Museum and what will I see there?
Al Tayebat Museum is housed in a multiroom complex designed to recreate traditional Hijazi architecture, with bay windows and ornate coral masonry. It holds several floors of exhibits on Jeddah's 3,000-year history, the city's cosmopolitan past, and an entire floor dedicated to Islamic heritage. Entry is included in the tour price.
Is this tour just sightseeing, or do I get to experience how locals actually spend their time?
The tour includes stops at local cafés in Al Balad where residents gather, not tourist spots, and visits hidden galleries and food shops that locals know about. Your guide takes you through neighborhoods as if you lived there, showing you where people actually spend their time rather than only the main attractions.
What happens during the two hours of free time at the end?
After the guided tour, you have two hours to shop or explore on your own at a convenient location your guide selects. Your guide then drives you back to your hotel in the private vehicle.
Do I need to arrange my own transportation to and from my hotel?
No. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in the tour price, and you travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle throughout the entire eight hours.
