The Experience

You start in the late afternoon when your driver picks you up and heads into the desert outside Jeddah. The first rush comes on the dune bashing run—a 4x4 vehicle cuts across the sand at angles that throw you sideways in your seat, and the driver knows how to use the terrain. Between the driving, you stop at a camel farm to ride one of the animals across the slower, quieter stretches of sand, then settle in to watch the sunset paint the dunes orange and red.
