The experience
The tour starts at the National Museum, where you walk through artifacts spanning the entire history of the Arabian Peninsula up to the modern era. From there you move to Murabba Palace, the former royal residence where King Abdulaziz once hosted his court. The palace takes its name from its distinctive 40-by-40-meter square shape. Adjacent to it stands a modern building holding King Abdulaziz's personal collection, which you briefly tour. These three stops sit at the heart of where the Saudi nation was born.
Next is Masmak Fort, a short walk from the Old Souq. Built in 1895 as a military garrison, the fortified palace is inseparable from the founding of the modern Saudi Kingdom. From there the tour heads to Kingdom Tower and its Sky Bridge, a panoramic viewpoint nearly 300 meters above Riyadh where you see the whole city spread below. Hotel pickup is included, and your guide speaks either English or Arabic throughout the day.
The eight-hour itinerary is paced for all fitness levels. Lunch is optional. You choose whether to include it when you book. The tour ends at Kingdom Tower, so plan your return to your hotel from there or ask your guide about the timing.
