The experience
Your hotel pickup marks the start of a seven-hour route through AlUla's major sites. Hegra comes first: the largest preserved Nabataean settlement south of Petra, with more than 110 tombs carved into massive sandstone outcrops. A licensed guide walks you through the site, explaining the culture and history of the people who built it, organized in collaboration with the Royal Commission of AlUla. After Hegra, you break for lunch in the city with water included.
The afternoon shifts to Dadan and Iqmah, archaeological sites in AlUla's historic heart that showcase early Arab inscriptions, tombs and relics from the Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms. From there, the tour heads to Elephant Rock (Jabal Alfil), a natural sandstone formation rising three storeys from the desert, shaped unmistakably like an elephant. The timing is built around sunset, when the rock stands against the golden light. After this final stop, your guide returns you to your hotel.
