The experience
The boat leaves Box Park in the late afternoon and heads out into the Arabian Gulf while the light is still high. You're on an authentic Arabic Dhow (the wooden sailing vessel that has carried trade and travelers across these waters for centuries), and for two hours you move at the pace the water sets. The Corniche slides past, then Box Park recedes behind you, and the landmarks of central Doha appear and disappear as the boat turns through the gulf. There's no rush. The whole point is the slowness of it.
The sun drops toward the horizon and the sky changes color in stages. Bottled water is there when you want it. If you've chosen the dinner option, the BBQ comes out on deck. If you've booked the cruise alone, you watch the same sunset without the meal. Either way, you're on the water when most of Doha is heading indoors, and the city lights start to come on just as the natural light fades. The guide is there in English if you have questions about what you're seeing, but the evening doesn't depend on narration.
The boat returns to Box Park after the two hours are done. Solo travelers and groups both book this. Children from five onward are welcome, though infants need to sit on an adult's lap. All fitness levels work here. You're sitting on a boat, not hiking.
Is this one for you?Book the dinner option if you want a full evening out on the water. Skip it if you prefer to keep the experience to the cruise and sunset alone. Either way, the two-hour timing fits between a late lunch in the city and a night out on land afterward.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 13 years). Children under 5 can't be included in the booking.
What exactly is a traditional Arabic Dhow?
A Dhow is a wooden sailing vessel built and used for centuries across the Arabian Gulf and Indian Ocean. On this cruise, it's the boat you'll be on for the full two hours, moving under sail or motor depending on the wind and the captain's choice.
Can I see the Corniche and Box Park from the boat?
Yes. The Corniche passes by as you sail out from Box Park, which is where the boat departs and returns. You'll see both landmarks from the water as the boat moves through the gulf.
What's the difference between the dinner and no-dinner options?
The Dhow Cruise With Dinner BBQ includes a barbecue meal served on deck during the sail. The Dhow Cruise Without Dinner is the cruise and water only. Both are the same two-hour route and timing.
How long does the whole experience take?
The cruise itself is two hours on the water. Plan to arrive a little early for boarding and allow time to return to Box Park afterward.
